Modern day "Thiopafto" derived from ancient "Ich-Thiopafto" which means "Peices or Dolphin Sanctuary". Located beside the quaint fishing port of Sabatiki , a 5-10 minute swim North, the both pebbly & sandy shore is a 2-3 minute walk(200m) by path. Thiopafto is visited every summer by the endangered sea turtle Caretta Caretta which lay its eggs on this tranquil shore.

Baby Beach which is an organised beach with excellent beach bar is also only about a 5 - 7 min walk away.
