Welcome to Shepherd's Rest. A self contained cosy apartment. The apartment is located on our working farm with views of Lough Corrib and Shannaghree Lakes, as well as breathtaking views of Connemara Mountains. It provides the best of both worlds, secluded in nature but 5 mins drive to village, pubs, restaurants, bakery and grocery stores. There are plenty local amenities scenic walks, hikes, fishing, golfing and an adventure centre in Moycullen. Perfect getaway to discover Connemara.

Spacious and new home near Lough Corrib

Situated on the outskirts of the beautiful village of Oughterard, the house is a 5 minute walk from the shores of Lough Corrib and its fishing facilities. The village of Oughterard, restaurants, cafes and grocery stores is 3kms from the house. Oughterard Golf course and Aughnanure castle are within 2kms. Connemara with its gorgeous villages and Atlantic beaches are easily reached by car as is the world famous Kylemore Abbey. Galway city with its many charms is located 25kms away.

Connemara, with its rugged beauty, mountains, rivers, lakes and unspoilt beaches all from the doorstep, as is The Burren. This self catering glamping site is the perfect place to relax and enjoy the great outdoors. We have 3 individually themed huts on site but they are spaced out enough to ensure privacy. The glamping site is based on a small farm with alpacas, chickens, pygmy goats and sheep.
