The Spring House: a quiet off-grid retreat

The Spring House is a 13’ x 13’ off-grid straw bale cabin sitting above Taunton Bay among coastal lakes and mountains. Sleeps two; or two adults and a small child. The cabin uses a dry composting toilet outhouse, LED solar lights, and water gathered from a nearby spring. It includes a wood stove and two-burner propane stove for cooking. Enjoy yoga practice or relax on the porch. Our location is not for everyone; please read our description carefully and see if this adventure is right for you!

Tiny House at Wooded Bliss Homestead

On the edge of our family homestead overlooking meadow & forest, this tiny house offers a quiet, cozy refuge only 45 minutes from Acadia National Park. There's a twin day bed on the ground floor & a double futon in the loft. Tiny kitchen & bathroom with shower (2 temps: hot or cold) too. A heat pump keeps the place toasty warm or nice and cool. Our family's gazebo, grill, fire pit, hammock, trails & garden are shared with guests. A beautiful beach across the bay from Acadia is down the road.

Nestled in a small quiet town right on the banks of Taunton Bay, enjoy peaceful relaxing location and watch the tide roll in and out. Wake up to waterviews from your bed. You have the entire "Spot" to yourself and whatever wildlife happens to show up that day! *****If you plan to book over the 4th of July holiday, please be aware that we will be setting off fireworks on this night. It is very loud. If you or anyone in your party is sensitive to loud explosions/mortars, please do not book.****

"Bear" cabin is one of four new cabins at Dickens Farms in Eastbrook Maine. Our cabins are spaced for privacy and each has its own fire pit, bbq grill and picnic area. You can enjoy water access to Abrams Pond for swimming, fishing, and kayaking. Two kayaks are provided per cabin for your enjoyment. Sit in the screened in porch and listen to nature or head into Acadia National Park to explore. Relax with your family for a quick getaway or week long adventure.
