Just 10 minutes away Rutland Water offers water sports, a beach, cycling and a climbing wall. Nearby Stamford is perfect for exploring with its independent shops, charming pubs, eateries and Burghley House.

Stylish Grade II listed C18 stone cottage in village's conservation area. It's quiet and comfortable, with simple Scandinavian interiors with a beautiful landscaped garden and large bbq area. The furniture and furnishings are hand made or antique with high quality appliances, comfortable settees and tasteful contemporary pictures and art works. The bedrooms are spacious and comfortable with great natural light. There is a stylish first fl bathroom and separate ground floor toilet. NB pet rules

Telegraph and Post Office cottage, Hambleton

The cottage , featured in Conde Nast 20 best UK villages and in the film Starfish is in Hambleton on a peninsula surrounded by Rutland water where you can sail fish and cycle. A superb pub, The Finchs is opposite with views of the lake and Hambleton Hall Hotel is nearby and has a Michelin starred restaurant. The cottage is opposite the church. Two king sized bedrooms . The third bedroom has a single bed and a pull out single bed underneath. It is a bit cozy for two adults but fine for kids.

Modern fully fitted kitchen diner and separate lounge. Free Wifi. Owners, Gill and Greg Harker live on site. Car parking for two cars. Stretton is 7 miles from Rutland Water, 8 miles from Oakham and 9 miles from Stamford and Burghley. Next door is the Jackson Stops Inn, which unfortunately has closed recently.

Keen cyclists are able to store their bicycles safely away in our key lock garage.
