The beaches of Leucadia are located below steep vertical cliffs which are accessible via well maintained stairways, making them relatively secluded and frequented by locals. South Carlsbad beach has restrooms, showers, and volleyball. Leucadia beaches are known for great surfing, so if you are looking for some great waves without the crowds, these beaches are a good bet. Bring your board or use boogie boards and beach chairs provided. Five minute drive to famous Moonlight Beach which has consessions, playground, restrooms with showers, and volleyball.
Explore the unique flavor this artsy community has to offer with it's many little restaurants, coffee shops, galleries, and boutiques. Most within walking distance along Hwy 101. Just south is downtown Encinitas offering numerous restaurants, shops, movie theater, salons, and even a Whole Foods grocery.
