Prepare coffee naturally in 4 different ways, including via a Bialetti stove top coffee maker, in a small kitchen with big features. A Smart TV offers Netflix and Bluetooth connectivity for favorite songs, while Amazon Alexa Dot has the answer for almost anything.
For people looking to work from home, the house has a 50 Mbps fiber optic connection, or just to relax without worrying about sharing bandwidth with the other guests.
This place was remodeled and redecorated late 2018 with the objective of creating a home for our guests (we are experienced super hosts). The place was redesigned with our AirBnB guests always in mind, but also thinking that this would be a place we would love to stay at. We have put a lot of the designer's love of art in the house (she also owns the place). We have a kitchenette equipped with the essentials (stove, oven, full size fridge, microwave oven, pots, pans, and in general everything you need for your stay), with special emphasis on how coffee is made - no electricity for our four different ways to make coffee: Drip coffee, French press, Bialetti Espresso coffee maker, and a Chemex. Each room has a separate mini-split A/C unit, and the Wi-Fi covers the entire house. There is one smart TVs with Netflix and Bluetooth connectivity to stream music from your devices. There is an Amazon Alexa Dot device in English to provide voice assistance. We provide all essentials (towels, sheets, shampoo, soap and toilet paper) for your visit.
The house is located in a quiet cul-de-sac, which is easy to get around: 7 minute walk to Tulum's main street, with easy access to all the restaurants and shops, and an 8 minute walk to Tulum's main supermarket. The bike/pedestrian road leading to the beach is only a few blocks away (20 minute bike ride to the beach).
The entire home is for your use. Please enjoy the patio out front, and the private patio in the back.
I really enjoy helping our guests plan their trip so let me know how can we help you. Think of me as your friend with all the local knowledge. We do not live in the area: you will be received by the housekeeper and she will be in charge of your check out as well. If you have any needs at all she lives in the house next door and can help you out. I will be available through phone, email and text in case you need anything.
The house is set on a quiet cul-de-sac in a safe local neighborhood, in a town that used to be a fishing village. Hop on the bikes for a quick ride to the beach, and to explore archaeological sites nearby. Restaurants and shops are an easy walk.
The bus service to Tulum from Cancún (airport and city), Playa del Carmen, Valladolid, Mérida and other surrounding cities is pretty reliable and accessible. The bus terminal is 0.8 miles from the house (1.3 kms), which makes it a good 15-20 minute walk. Not hard is your luggage is light and you enjoy a walk; otherwise there are taxis stationed right in front of the bus terminal.
It is easy to get around town by walking or biking - as most locals do. We provide three bikes for your use and there are several bike rental places around.
You can also get around by car, but parking can be tricky near the beach and on the main road. Getting a rental car from Cancun's Airport and driving to Tulum is a good option- make sure to compare prices specially once you add insurance costs.
Taxis are easily available near the supermarket, the beach and the bus terminal, but relatively expensive by Mexican standards.
Please park at the curb right in front of the house, as do most neighbors in their own houses. No special permits are needed.
Running water has become a problem in Tulum as the town grows. We have two water tanks on the rooftop, but we recommend you be careful with the water. If by any reason you run out of water please let us know immediately so we can work on getting a water tank truck to the house.
We can provide fresh fruit and orange juice for breakfast, or a lunch/dinner of local dishes (Cochinita Pibil, Panuchos and Lima Soup) which is worth enjoying at the house, for an extra charge, as well as light cleaning and laundry service. Our neighbors can also provide snorkeling tours to the reef and cenotes, as well as transportation to the airport.
