Vallecito Log Cabin with a View

Enjoy all Vallecito Lake has to offer from this 2 bedroom 1 bath log cabin located at the North End of Vallecito. You can walk down to the Lake or the Country Market while taking in all the fresh mountain air. Outside your cabin enjoy the charcoal BBQ grill and patio furniture. Also included in your stay are use of the heated indoor swimming pool (Pool is Open May 1st – Nov 30th, Dec 20th – Jan 6th Daily Hours: 10am – 8pm) & playground located 4 miles south of the cabin at Pine River Lodge.

Altitude Adjustment - A-frame cabin on 3 acres

The cabin sits at 8000 feet on a hillside approximately 20 minutes east of downtown Durango. It is newly renovated and will comfortably sleep 2-4 guests. The cabin is a great base camp for your adventures. Hiking, biking or swimming are 15 minutes away. Purgatory Resort and Wolf Creek are respectively 50 and 90 minutes away. AWD or 4x4 is required in winter to drive up the .33 mile access road to the cabin. While plowed, the road is steep and can be covered in snow and ice during winter.

There is a front/back porch to enjoy Colorado sun with your own private hot tub (included in the price). Sorry, no pets! Secure your food there’s been a bear seen in the neighborhood !!

It has great outdoor space. This mountain getaway is 9.5 miles from Bayfield and 23 miles from Durango. Quiet and peaceful you will be on the edge of the San Juan National Forest at the end of the maintained road of the Forest Lakes subdivision. Footsteps from miles of hiking and biking trails!

Great forest escape in the mountains. Our house offers space to come together as a family, slow down and enjoy nature. The fresh, cool mountain air is refreshing and inviting. Like most mountain homes, our house does not have AC as the breeze keeps the house cooler. During those unseasonably warm times, the box fans in the windows keep the air flowing and trips to the lake or river are just perfect!
