This 2900 sf 3 bed 2 bath home was carefully decorated and designed with comfort and aesthetics in mind. From the 18 ft ceilings to the waterfall counter top, amazing kitchen and handmade barn doors there has been no stone left unturned. Red Dog Retreat is settled back from the road amongst the trees. 2.75 mi directly up the hill from downtown Broad St. A 7min easy drive to Historic Downtown Nevada City & 15mins to the Yuba River. Walking and biking trails are steps away from our property and we are a short drive to Scott's Flat Reservoir. Bring your boats, bikes & kayaks! Grill and sit around the fire pit on our wrap around deck. We love our peaceful home and look forward to sharing it with guests from all backgrounds.

Getaway in Victorian House & Garden

Enjoy entire home well maintained for over 100 years with large back yard and patio. Located in historic railroad town of Colfax just a few blocks from Interstate 80. Drive 20 to 45 minutes to play in the snow in winter at Nyack, Boreal or Sugar Bowl and in summer there is plenty of hiking, biking, boating, and relaxing at nearby Rollins Lake, American River, Yuba River, Tahoe National Forest and Donner Summit. Explore nearby gold towns of Auburn, Grass Valley and Nevada City.

Mountain getaway just minutes away from town!

Relax and enjoy 5 acres of expansive views of the mountains and treetops! The house is surrounded by pine and oak trees with lots of privacy. Perfect family or couples getaway but still close to town. The bedrooms are very spacious and the beds are super comfy! The kitchen is fully equipped. We are about 15 minutes away from downtown Grass Valley and Nevada City. Yuba River, mountain biking, and hiking are about 20 minutes away from the house. Skiing is about 50 miles away.

Sugarloaf Madrone Studio

Sugarloaf Madrone Studio is tucked into the slope of Sugarloaf Mountain, overlooking the 7 hills of Nevada City. It is a 3 minute drive or 20 minute walk to downtown restaurants, arts, and nightlife. Despite its proximity, you will feel like you are in the country with pastoral views, local parks, and a quiet neighborhood. You will share the house with a totally separate apartment on the ground level. The Madrone Studio is great for rest, relaxation, and being close to nature.

Curl up under a blanket & enjoy your favorite cup of coffee or glass of wine in the gazebo while listening to the fountain in the background. Stay in and cook in the amazing chef's kitchen or take a 5 min. walk into town and enjoy fine dining, shopping and nightlife.

Beautiful house close to town and in the trees

Cancellations due to fire or Smokey air -allowed. Fragrance free cleaning products Wood floors, washer/dryer stocked kitchen Central heat. Air conditioning. High end mattresses. The house is off of a main road close to downtown Nevada City but in the tallest trees. There is some car noise during rush hour but none of that can be heard from inside of this very well insulated house. No loud parties. We do host dogs and occasionally cats.
