Dive into the artsy Kerns neighborhood with a journalist

Walk, shop, eat, and drink with me, a journalist and food writer, in the eclectic southeast Portland neighborhood of Kerns, one of the city’s liveliest areas. I’ll show you its history and highlights at my favorite coffee shops, art galleries, landmarks, and vintage shops. • Meet at Heart for introductions and the neighborhood’s best coffee and then stroll to Nationale, an art gallery and bookshop that showcases emerging artists. • I’ll share the stories behind Burnside Street’s landmarks, including the Art Deco Laurelhurst Theater, and answer any Portland-related questions you may have as we wander up 28th Avenue. • Pop into Olo to chat with the designers of locally made perfumes, browse the vintage collection at Goodbye Horses, and discuss what you’ve seen over margaritas and snacks at Güero. I’ll leave you with my personalized tips for dinner and further explorations in the neighborhood and beyond, as well as my handmade zine full of insider tips on Portland.

Street Trees of Seattle Walking Tour

Seattle is home to one of the nation’s most diverse urban tree collections—double the East Coast’s average and triple the Midwest’s. Join me, a local data nerd, naturalist and bestselling author, for a stroll through Capitol Hill as we explore this charming neighborhood and its notable street trees. • We’ll begin our adventure at the locally beloved Macrina Bakery on 19th Avenue, where you’ll receive a map I’ve illustrated of the eight different trees we'll visit, along with a brief overview. • On our tree walk through the beautiful residential streets of Capitol Hill, we’ll stop at each tree to learn how to identify it and distinguish it from other species. • You’ll have a chance to see notable trees, including the city’s widest maple street tree (a native bigleaf maple), the widest sugar and silver maple street trees, and the widest giant sequoia street tree in Seattle. You’ll leave with a renewed sense of wonder, a mile of nature therapy, and a newfound appreciation for the more than 700 tree species that adorn the Emerald City. Please note: Our tour covers approximately one mile along sidewalks and lasts about 90 minutes. Be sure to bring a rain jacket, water, and wear comfortable walking shoes, rain or shine.

Multnomah Falls Columbia Gorge Waterfall Tour to Six Falls

We’re experiencing the best of the Columbia River Gorge on this waterfall tour. I’ll pick you up in Downtown Portland (or you can meet us at our Gresham location closer to the Waterfalls) and we’ll explore under the basalt cliffs in our big window van as we hop out to explore 6 waterfalls with short hikes. Get big views of the Columbia River Gorge throughout the route and especially at the Crown Point Vista House where we see the gorge lit at the golden hour on our nightly sunset tours. The experience is fun for anyone who loves beautiful views and waterfalls. Stops: Horsetail Falls Multnomah Falls Wahkeena Falls Bridal Veil Falls Shepperds Dell Latourell Falls Crown Point Vista House This is an active tour, of the 3.5 hours you'll be in the bus for less than an hour and exploring the beautiful parks surrounding the waterfalls for most of the tour. Downtown Portland pick up available at all Downtown and Convention Center hotels. You can uber or transit to one even if you're not staying there. Portland River Boat Tours

We will take you on a 2 hour scenic boat ride up north or down south on the picturesque Willamette River. Pets are always welcome! Maximum of 6 total passangers. You can bring your own foods, wines, spirits, and coffee! 7:00 am tour. We cruise around the Ross Island natural area and seek out all forms of wild life! On any given tour we see bald eagles, osprey, blue heron, deer, turtles, otters, and beavers! During the fishing season we may even see a sea lions chasing a salmon! Tours starting at 9:00 am, 11:00 am, 1:00 pm and 3:00 pm, for these tours we offer our clients a choice in travel direction. We can cruise the river in either direction, north or south! -If we head south, we will see Portland and Lake Oswego’s most beautiful homes, plenty of wildlife such as osprey, bald eagles, river otters, beavers, sea lions, and the Willamette Falls in Oregon City! -If we head north, we will view Portland's 9 unique and historical bridges, nature, the city skyline, and the Port of Portland. From here we will get up close to ocean going ships, drydocks and see the shipping yards from the water. Tours starting at 5:00 pm and 7:00 pm are the sunset cruises! On these cruises we see the Portland city bridges, Portland’s historical floating homes, movie props, sunsets over the city, and Oaks Bottom natural area. We have a covered boat. Rain or Shine!
