"Katoi", the lower floor of the house, as it was called in the old days. in Eptanisos, the place in the house supplies, wine, oil, wheat etc., were usually stocked, but also the favorite place for children to play. Dark and cool, with a characteristic scent that increases your appetite, that special mystic atmosphere. This 2-story villa is built in a quite village of Kefalonia with a panoramic view of the Agia Kyriaki and Myrtos bays.The villa’s exclusivity aims to ensuring a comfortable and pleasant stay for all guests, having been designed to assure accessibility to people with mobility difficulties and/or reduced mobility approved and certified by TUV. The villa was constructed with absolute respect to the natural beauty of the landscape and incorporated to the environment. Stepping through the wooden door of the entrance, a comfortable ramp with the minimum slope (adjusted to the needs of people using wheelchair) leads to the pool level at the entrance of the house. The pool with the wooden sitting arrangement invites guests to enjoy the sea view and relax under the clear blue sky. From the first moment when approaching this beautiful house, it is apparent that it has been designed so that everyone is able to enjoy their vacation without barriers. From the main entrance to the comfy and bright sitting room, the large openings make you feel that the outside and the inside of the house merge into one! This last happens also to the two master bedrooms which are on the same level. The first large bedroom has two single beds and its own bathroom illuminated with light entering from the ceiling, which has been specifically designed, meeting all specifications, equipped to be accessible for people with reduced mobility. Rock is the main building material in the decoration of this superb and comfortable bedroom which also has a view to the pool and the sea. The second bedroom also has its own bathroom, a large double bed and a view to the pool and the yard. The romantic decor with earthy colors and materials creates a relaxation feeling to the visitor. An internal window lets the daylight inside the bathroom. In the living room, the corner-shaped couch can be used as an extra sleeping space for two people. At the same level, there is also a kitchenette, a washing machine and an elevator leading at the 2nd level of the house. An impressive staircase leads from the living room to the 2nd floor of the house. Reaching the 2nd level, there are two choices to enjoy the lovely view towards Myrtos Bay: either from the large porch with the pergola, the BBQ with the built seating or from inside the impressive dining room area. The monastery-style dining table in the middle of the room catches the visitor’s eye away from the magnificent sea view. At the same area, there is a large kitchen totally adapted to the needs of people of reduced mobility. A garden full of beautiful flowers next to the kitchen completes the setting. At this level there is an extra bathroom. The elevator, the covered parking space leading at the entrance level of the house as well as the design in total in addition to the villa's equipment, allows everyone to enjoy their vacation comfortably, without obstacles! With two independent bedrooms, extra sleeping space and the highest standards of comfort and hospitality, the house can accommodate up to 7 persons. ARRIVAL BOAT Departure from Patra. The trip lasts 3 hours. Arrival at port of Sami (25km away from Agkona). Departure from Kilini. The trip lasts 1.5 hour. Arrival at port of Poros (40km away from Agkona). Alternative arrival port of Argostoli (20 km from Agkona). The trip lasts 3 hours. AIRPLANE There are several flighs to Kefalonia from Eleftherios Venizellos airport everyday. Ask us for everything! Bathe on blue-flag beaches nearby, including several that have accessibility features. Visit ancient sites, such as the Mycenaean cemetery at Mazarakata, Skala Temple, and Fiskardo Roman Cemetery, then dine at a wide choice of nearby tavernas. Villa KATOI has two parcking Accessibility on the island. Beaches Beaches that officially have been declared as accessible by the municipality of Kefalonia are: Skala beach (mechanical ramp installed enabling stroller to enter into the water), Lourdas, Xi, Antisamos, Platis Gialos (wooden ramps available) as well as Myrtos beach where a special inflatable Chair is available that enables transfer in the water. At Assos and Fiskardo parking is permitted (informally) at the historical center for cars that transfer disabled people. Easily accessible for a walk at Argostoli: the new marina, Lithostroto (the main commercial street) and the bus station. Discover a Mediterranean themed escape at this rustic designed modern home. The holiday retreat features wood furnishings and decor, blue hues throughout, contrasting motifs, and access to a communal garden with a BBQ. Just at the outskirts of the pretty hamlet of Svoronata, with views of Zante, the Ionian Sea and surrounding countryside, this charming, 50 sqm, 1st-floor residence, enjoys a tranquil location, very close to the airport, but quiet and perfect for a relaxing, romantic holiday for two or three. Sitting in an elevated position, it dominates splendid views from its' spacious terrace The private terrace of 45 sqm, located just in front of the apartment and the lovely garden underneath, with its' barbeque, create a wonderful setting for breakfast, coffee or meals. Although it is built in the common garden of the hosts’ permanent residence at the ground floor, it stands at the whole 1st floor itself, which is autonomous and shields guests from the house beneath it and there are no immediate neighbors overlooking the property. Patio doors allow plenty of light to flood into the open plan lounge with a sofa-double bed, dining and kitchen area. The comfortable double bedroom, with a king size bed, also has patio doors out to the furnished terrace at the front of the property. A bathroom is located two steps across the bedroom door, together with a kitchen with all the necessary utensils. The lovely garden at the ground floor and the barbeque are in common use with the hosts. The terrace of the 1st floor is private, for guests' use only. The hosts are everyday willing to help you spend unforgettable holidays. Their permanent residence is located at the ground floor. They moved to the island of Kefalonia in 2006. George is an Electrical Engineer. He likes the countryside, windsurfing, sailing and tennis. Sofia is working. She likes cooking, paragliding, excursions and traveling. They have two children. The house is 8 kilometers away from the capital of the island, Argostoli, and only 1 kilometer from the airport and the sea. A short 5-10 minute drive away are several of the island's most famous beaches, Ammes, Avithos, Ai Helis, Makris Gialos and Platis Gialos. They are located two to five kilometers away from this lovely residence. There are also markets, taverns, and shops nearby. A welcome basket of fresh fruits, juice, as well as a bottle of wine, will be offered to the guests upon their arrival.
