Redwood Lodge is a comfortably furnished self-catering lodge, nestled
in woodland on a hillside overlooking the magnificent Dee Valley.
The property features one double bed and two singles, making it
perfect for couples or families with two children. The singles can be converted into a king-size bed, or if not needed as beds they can be converted to a sofa space. Please let us know how you would like the beds set up when you book. A travel cot is also
available on request. There is a well-equipped kitchenette, with a sink,
fridge, combination microwave/convection oven and electric hobs, along with all the cooking
equipment you'll need to cook up a feast at the end of a long day out
and about. Your private shower room is just across the gravel driveway,
where there is plenty of parking space. In the evening, relax in the
garden and enjoy a glass of wine on the decking as you watch the sun set
across the valley, marvel at the spectacular dark skies and listen to the sounds of our resident tawny owl
and barn owl.
Located in the heart of the Clwydian Range and Dee Valley Area of
Outstanding Natural Beauty, our lodges are the perfect base for an
active getaway. There are spectacular walks on your doorstep, with the
Dee Valley Way and the North Berwyn Way passing close by. There are also
countless heritage trails and historic (and prehistoric) monuments in
the surrounding area, as well as popular mountain biking routes.
The village of Cynwyd has a local shop and post office, as well as a
lovely dog-friendly pub serving good pub grub. Corwen is just a five-minute drive with more
shops, including a chemist, bakery and butchers, as well as various
cafes and takeaway options. Llangollen, Ruthin and Betws-y-Coed are all
within half an hour's drive, while Lake Bala is closer still with its
beautiful lakeside walks and National White Water Rafting Centre.
Snowdonia is just a stone's throw away, and coastal destinations such as
Llandudno, Conwy or Rhyl on the north coast and Barmouth, Harlech or
Porthmadog on the west coast are all about an hour's travel. For anyone
wanting a day out shopping or a day in the city, the historic Roman city
of Chester is just fifty minutes by car, whilst Liverpool is about an
hour away.
We are a family-run business and live here with our two children and
three dogs, along with a smallholding that includes a handful of geese and
ducks, a goat and a flock of rescue hens providing us — and you — with
fresh eggs every day. If you would like to meet our animals, please let
us know and we will be happy to arrange this.
We feel very lucky to live in our little slice of Welsh heaven and look forward to welcoming you here!
