Kötschach has its own ski area that is very suitable for families (Kötschach-Mauthen-Vorhegg ski area), a great swimming pool complex with wellness that is open all year round, and there is also a natural swimming pool in Mauthen. There are also several very affordable eateries and further facilities such as supermarkets, a bank, various shops, etc.
There is also a beautiful large ski area in Nassfeld 30 km away with more than 220 km of slopes.
