Colombian spirits and coastal dish pairings with a chef

Colombia’s Pacific coastal region has its own distinctive cuisine and culinary heritage. Part of that heritage is viche, a spirit distilled from sugarcane. Discover this produce through a viche tasting and some snacks. • Hear the story of viche, its origins, and its cultural importance in coastal Colombian communities. • Taste viche prepared in several ways alongside dishes such as tuna crudo marinated in curuba (passiflora) and whitefish with cauliflower purée in a smoked coconut milk broth. • In addition to viche infused with botanicals, we’ll demonstrate how to make the well-known Viche Cítrico cocktail. You’ll leave with an enhanced sense of the flavors of viche and a regional cuisine unknown outside of Colombia. Note: Since this experience centers on alcoholic spirits, you must be aged 18 and up.

Weave a mochila using ancient Indigenous techniques

Discover the ancient weaving techniques of the Indigenous communities along Colombia’s Caribbean coast. In this three-hour hands-on workshop, you’ll craft a small mochila (knapsack) using natural fibers, drawing inspiration from the traditional Carga Tuto of the Iku community. • Learn about the ancestral weaving techniques used by the indigenous communities in the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, and the inspirations behind Tigre de Salón. • Craft a mochila, a traditional Colombian knapsack, with my step-by-step guidance. I’ll demonstrate techniques and delve into the symbolic meanings behind weaving in Indigenous culture. • This experience isn’t just about crafting; it’s about connecting with traditions that have shaped a community for centuries. The Carga Tuto is an essential accessory for the Iku community, used to carry their harvest. As you weave, I’ll share recommendations for further exploring the art of weaving and appreciating Colombian culture.

瓜塔佩全包之旅（到访私人岛屿）

Adventure Awaits! 8:00 AM Meet up is bright & early at the pickup location. Song requests are encouraged as we wind through the mountains. Next, we’ll gather energy with a buffet breakfast at the magical Casa Colombia in Marinilla–we know this hidden gem will charm you with its ambiance, and great photo opportunities! We’ll then head to the famous Replica, a time capsule image of the old town square, where you’ll get to hear some of the history. We allocated free time for you to take in the views of the colonial architecture, the beautiful dam below, and to venture through the many shops the area offers. We’ll then take a boat ride along the hydrodam, complete with all-around views of properties until we make it to a private island where you can swim and take part of other activities! After the boat ride, we’ll have a typical Colombian lunch in the pueblo of Guatape, and then we’ll show you around the most colorful town in all of Colombia. You will have time to wander around its cobblestone streets so you can discover its magic first-hand! Finally, we’ll end the day with the best stop, the rock of Guatape! La Piedra del Peñon!
