Visit Manhattan's movie locations with a filmmaker

Take a walk through Midtown Manhattan filming locations with me, a location scout and manager. I’ll share my inside knowledge on finding, securing, and delivering the perfect settings to create unforgettable scenes on the big screen. • Walk to the Central Park locations of the taxi sequence from Die Hard With a Vengeance, and then to the fountain where Adam Sandler took his infamous swim in Uncut Gems. • At Carnegie Hall, I’ll reveal the locations used in Maestro, including the apartment building across the street, where Leonard Bernstein once lived. In the Diamond District, we’ll visit various diamond exchanges and I’ll explain why we chose one over the others for Uncut Gems. • Finally, head to Times Square to discuss the empty scene in Vanilla Sky and the crowded scene in Birdman, including a Broadway theater and Bar. You’ll leave with an insider’s understanding of the locations process, as well as an appreciation for its role in creating memorable films.

As masters of the art of storytelling, we’ll guide you into one of New York's speakeasies where we'll toast to a prohibition cocktail and tell the tale of the period’s most notorious gangsters and infamous bootleggers. Then, we’ll explore the catalysts behind Prohibition at our next stop and focus on the women of the Gilded Age, and the movement that gave rise to an oil king. To round off our journey together, we'll walk you around the edge of Times Square and finally we’ll discuss the demise of Prohibition over cocktails at our last venue stop. Along the way, you’ll pass by celebrity homes, including those of Lady Gaga and Keanu Reeves, and hear behind-the-scenes stories of films like Elf, Enchanted, and Gossip Girl. At Bethesda Fountain, one of the most iconic locations in the park, your guide will help you capture the perfect photo before leading you to Bow Bridge and Cherry Hill, where you’ll recognize scenes from Friends and Sex and the City. The tour continues through Strawberry Fields, a peaceful tribute to John Lennon, just steps from the Dakota, where he once lived. As we make our way through the Upper West Side, you’ll see the bridge made famous by Elf, pass the Trump Hotel, and discover even more landmarks that make Central Park special. We’ve been leading Central Park tricycle tours since 2011, so you can trust that we know every corner and hidden gem of the park. This tour is best suited to the first-time visitors to Central Park. We'll share deep knowledge of Central Park, history, movie locations and celebrity homes. Stop at the most famous places and take pictures while explaining the significance. Enjoy 3 stops to go for a walk at the most beautiful spots: The Bethesda Fountain, Bow Bridge and Strawberry Fields. In warm months you can also extend regular tour for second hour to see more of the park. Price is double and you can pay in cash for second hour. Just let us know beforehand if you want to extend for second hour. Other things to note: It is recommended that you book at the beginning of your vacation. In case of rain you can reschedule to next day. We do not conduct tours in the rain. For those, who are looking unique experience, it is not. It's a classic tour: history, sightseeing and fun. You will dive right into a 1 hour private drums lesson at one of New York City’s best music rehearsal studios, on a full professional drum set, or percussion setup. You can experience the atmosphere of where some of the worlds most famous musicians practice before a show. This is the center of musician culture in NYC! Alex will work with your musical level and map out a lesson based on your ability. All musical levels are taught, from basic beginner to professional. You don’t need to bring anything. He will teach you any style of drumming you wish to learn. (Please message me BEFORE booking to make sure the studio is available! Lessons can be booked any time after 12pm). If you wish, additional lessons can be planned for the future, in person or thru the internet. Please specify if you want a drumset class or percussion class (either- Congas, Bongos, Cajon, or Djembe). Our facility is Very clean and health compliant. We use first class drum equipment. 99% of our students learn to play a drumbeat in just 1 hour with Alex's method. An adult can sit in and accompany a child for free. Only the student will be charged. At the end, Alex will be happy to take pictures or video you playing drums with your own phone or camera. You can post it on your social media!

Manhattan Skyline Kayak Tour

I believe outdoor activities can build personal resilience and love of nature. This is especially important in cities for urban populations. With this in mind, I founded Resilience Adventures, an organization that offers eco-focused kayak and paddleboard experiences on the beautiful Hudson River with the Manhattan Skyline as backdrop. The Manhattan Skyline Eco-Tour is a beginner-level kayak experience which includes basic instruction first and then a group (or private) kayak tour on the Hudson River. The tour travels along the Hoboken waterfront with stunning views of the Manhattan Skyline. The distance traveled depends on the skill/speed of the group. The duration of the entire experience, including instruction, is 1.5 hours after participant check-in. Note: This tour is also available as a stand-up paddleboarding experience for intermediate-level paddleboarders. Beginner paddleboarders should opt for our Learn to Paddleboard lesson instead.
