Dolittle Self-catering Cottage

Self-catering Cottage in the suburbs of Swellendam, equipped with solar power and a back-up generator so you are never in the dark. For those who have a love of animals, then you'll love your stay. Our resident donkeys, sheep & chickens will happily greet you, and when in season our towering pecan nut trees will drop their gifts for you to pick up & enjoy. If Dolittle is booked, look at Doless which is right next door & identical other than colour of décor, or book both for a group getaway.

A solar system is in place to counter load shedding and you will not be left in the dark.

This versatile thatched roofed cottage offers contemporary country comfort with a dash of history. It is one of the two cottages located on the owners property offering its own entrance and private garden. During winter, when you might even encounter snow on the mountains, your very own baby Godin wood burner makes sure you are toasty warm. In summer, guests are invited to use the recently built pool. A five minute walk will get you to the village center.

You’ll love the cottage because of the spacious, private, setting on a working wine and fruit farm nestled against the mountains of Franschhoek Valley.
