The Lady Maxwell Room - Buittle Castle

Named after Lady Maxwell, a former resident of Buittle Castle, the room is appointed in the Gothic Revival and Arts and Crafts styles. The room is on the ground floor, with its own private access to the courtyard (with one step) and its own ensuite bathroom with shower. Full Scottish or American breakfast is included. Gluten-free and vegetarian options are also available. Please let us know of any dietary requirements ahead of time. We aim to offer guests a true country house experience.

After a delicious home-cooked breakfast, there's much to do in this lovely area - from nearby Drumlanrig Castle to wonderful gardens, walking, bird watching, fishing and golf. There are two excellent restaurants within easy reach.

The Sheepfold at Highside Farm

The Sheepfold, renovated in 2017, is a historic Grade II listed building that has witnessed centuries of transformation. We look forward to welcoming you to our B&B. We are well located between the towns of Workington, Cockermouth and Maryport. Originally two cottages built over 100 years ago, the first cottage was build in the late 1600s and is one of the oldest properties in the rural village of Seaton. The cottages have been lovingly renovated to a very high standard, retaining many of the original features. Come and relax in our Finnish Sauna, private and secluded in the garden.
